There has not been much time when news of “Bajirao Mastani” star Deepika Padukone demanding a whopping sum of Rs 10 crores for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next flick “Padmavati” was going viral. After adding taxes, paycheque of the actress would be approximately Rs 12 crores.

An article published in Mid-day made these claims about the huge deal that has been signed between Bhansali and Deepika without taking any names:
“Though there has been a lot of speculation about the project and casting, the producer-director is known to keep his cards close to his chest.
So, there is nothing official about it, but the actress has been going to town, claiming that she was being paid a whopper for the film. She didn’t forget to add that it is way higher than what another leading actress, considered top of the heap, demands and gets.
As soon as her tall claims reached the filmmaker’s ears, he was left fuming. He berated her and asked her to keep mum till he makes an official announcement about the project. As damage control, she is now saying that she has not signed the project yet.”
Just to inform, “Padmavati” is the next periodic drama by Bhansali that portrays the story of Rajput princess Padmini who was so beautiful that Alauddin Khilji gave her his heart.
