After Losing Rounds 1 & 2 To ‘Mohenjo Daro’, ‘Rustom’ Loses Round 3 As Well! Here’s How

A big clash of two blockbusters is on the way and there has been uncertainty as to which movie will win the race, Hrithik Roshan’s “Mohenjo Daro” or Akshay Kumar’s “Rustom”. Ever since the release date of both the movies has been made public which is co-incidentally the same, i.e., August 12, 2016, comparisons are constantly made between them. Even though Bollywood seemed to promote “Rustom” and ignore “Mohenjo Daro”, the latter won 2 rounds already as we informed you earlier.

Round 1 was about collections before the release and needless to say, “Mohenjo Daro” won it as the movie earned Rs. 60 crores through theatrical and music rights; however, no revelation is made regarding the earnings of “Rustom”.

Round 2 included the number of screens as the category of competition and the history repeated itself, as “Mohenjo Daro” proved to be a winner in this one too, taking into consideration the fact that it bagged 2500 screens while Khiladi Kumar’s movie could bag merely 2000 screens!

And now we are going to tell you about the final victory, which is Round 3 and it’s about the number of single screens!

Any guesses which film wins?

Yes, again it’s Hrithik’s “Mohenjo Daro”!

The single screen theatre owners have found themselves in a state of shock when Disney UTV reminded them of a contract signed by them which clearly states that they would not show any other movie when “Baaghi”, “Mohenjo Daro” and “Dangal” will release. As per this contract, these single screen owners will lose the chance of showing Akshay Kumar’s “Rustom” which is also a big star movie.

The theatre owners wanted to divide their four shows equally between “Rustom” and “Mohenjo Daro”; however, now it is clear that they won’t be showing the former one, as even the second meeting between “Rustom” distributors and Disney UTV ended without a positive result.

What’s more, advance booking of Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde starrer “Mohenjo Daro” is also opened now which was closed so far as the theater owners were hopeful of screening “Rustom” too.

Well, with this, it has become more interesting to see which movie attains victory in terms of Box Office collections! Akshay Kumar has been giving Blockbuster superhits one after another for a long period of time whereas Hrithik Roshan’s movies have not done significantly well in last few years!
