Uri attack had brought in a wave of disappointment and had shattered everyone! Yes, Indians mourned the loss of those 18 brave soldiers, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country and its citizens. On the other hand, Surgical Strikes by Indian Army were a perfect revenge from the enemy, and we just couldn’t stop feeling proud, isn’t it?
However, these attacks gave birth to 1 controversy i.e. “Whether it is right to ban Pakistani actors or not?”
On one hand we had Indian citizens supporting this decision of IMPPA of banning Pakistani artists and on the other hand, we had actors like Salman Khan ,Mahesh Bhatt, Karan Johar and Om Puri opposing this decision.
Yesterday, we saw how Om Puri passed shameful remarks on martyr Nitin Kumar. Yes, he said that there is no need to mourn the loss of these soldiers, because no one has forced them to join the army. Moreover, he also stated that it is the government who gives visas and permits to these Pakistani actors. In exact words, the actor had said;
“Who had asked the soldiers to join the army? Who told them to pick the weapons? Do you want India-Pakistan enmity to turn like Israel and Palestine, and fight for ages? India is home to crores of Muslims, there is no point in proving them for war. Several Indians have their relatives staying across the border and vice-versa, how can they fight a war with their cross-border families? I don’t give a damn to Salman Khan or some other Khan… Go to Modiji (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) and cancel their (Pakistani actors’) visas. Prepare 15-20 people as suicide bombers and send them to Pakistan,”
It was a heated debate yesterday, and everyone slammed him for his disgusting comments. Not only this, even an FIR has been filed by Prithvi Maske at the Andheri Police Station against Om Puri. Maske requested for sedition charges to be filed under section 124 A.
