Can you imagine Test cricket without the expert Virat Kohli? I am sure you won’t be able to imagine this at all. Obviously, even Indian selectors can’t ignore him at any cost, but there was 1 match, wherein his place was doubtful.
We are talking about the match in Perth in 2012, against Australia; selectors were thinking of dropping him from the team.
It was bad luck for Virat Kohli; in the 1st test of that series, his score was just 11 and 0. Then, the 2nd test was at Sydney but once again Virat failed and his scores were just 23 and 9. So it was a tough time for selectors because they had just 2 options i.e. back him or drop him.

However, Virender Sehwag makes a stunning revelation in this regards. He said that selectors were keen on letting Rohit Sharma play instead of Virat Kohli in 2012. That time, MS Dhoni was leading the team and Sehwag was the vice captain. Viru paaji says “We decided that we have to back Virat Kohli, and the rest is history”

As soon as Sehwag made this revelation, it immediately got viral on social media. Due to Sehwag and Dhoni, Kohli’s career reached new heights. He scored 44 and 75 in the 3rd test match and 116 in the 4th.
Although the selectors had taken the decision against Kohli, Sehwag and Dhoni backed him.
