Shashi Tharoor Shared FB Post About India Becoming Backward & It Is Very Logical!

Post demonetization, SC had passed a law demanding compulsory National Anthem before screening movies. This decision received mixed reactions from social media users.

Likewise, there have been many such debates revolving around the hot topic “Nationalism”.

The socio-political situations in India are constantly changing and due to his, people are getting uncomfortable. Patriotism, Nationalism and Freedom of Expression are 3 such issues, which people just can’t stop talking about.

Amidst this, there is a Facebook user named Deepak Rana, who shared a post highlighting the difference in the country, few decades back with respect to Nationalism. Deepak stated that “Patriotism” and “Nationalism” were not debatable topics few decades back.

His post has gone viral, and even Shashi Tharoor, the Congress leader shared it in the form of a picture. People agreed with this post and started sharing it like crazy; the share count has reached around 7,900.

The post read

“I grew up in an India that was much different. I stood up for national anthem, because I found it cool, not because I had to. When I visited a temple, I questioned priests about the idea of god and they did not mind it. When I met a political party worker, I told him that his leader was stupid and he laughed. When I supported Australian cricket, because of Steve Waugh, no one objected. I was surrounded with soldiers and military officers, yet, none of them ever talked about nationalism and anti-nationalism. It’s funny, just a decade or two, and how quickly we have moved backwards.”

Many people have the same mindset as Deepak and will surely resonate to this post. This is a never-ending topic and no matter how many posts are shared, people will keep thinking the way they want to. But yes, this post is valid; just because a person loves another country, he can’t be called an Anti-Nationalist.
