Well, it is none other than our favorite superstar Kohli. Aren’t you curious to know which tweet of his is selected? Remember, Kohli had tweeted in support of Anushka Sharma once? The same tweet has been selected; if you can’t recollect let’s have a look..
Shame on people for trolling @AnushkaSharma non-stop. Have some compassion. She has always only given me positivity pic.twitter.com/OBIMA2EZKu

This was indeed the most re-tweeted tweet of the year and has given their fans a new reason to celebrate. He had slammed all those who had trolled Anushka and this was retweeted over 39,000 times and liked by 1,07,117 users.
The Managing Director of Twitter India, Maya Hari stated that,
“Twitter is a reflection of conversations in India. There are good conversations and other conversations that happen. What was amazing to see is that Virat Kohli stood out as a great role model on Twitter in India standing up for a woman and the safety and defense of her on the platform.”
There were reports that Kohli and Anushka had broken up because the actress wasn’t interested on marrying anytime soon. When Virat won ICC World T20, everyone linked it to his break up with Anushka. However, Kohli had shut everyone’s mouth once and for all with this tweet.
This might be a great moment for Kohli, as he beat PM Modi too. Yes, Narendra Modi’s tweet on demonetization couldn’t fetch the “Golden tweet” of the year, but he definitely made it to the list of top 10 trending tweets on Twitter and stood 1st.
