The clash between Raees and Kaabil further intensified when the distribution of the screens was uneven i.e. 60 percent and 40 percent; earlier it was decided that both the films would get 50-50 percent, but unfortunately, things differed.
Raees took a lead over Kaabil right from day one and papa Roshan was pretty pissed off with this foul play. He blasted at the exhibitors for being unfair to Kaabil and favoring Raees by giving them 60 percent of the screens.
Not only this, Rakesh Roshan also threatened that he will quit the film industry if such trends continue. He was disappointed because he didn’t get the promised screen count; forget exhibitors, he even slammed SRK and the producers of Raees.
Rakesh Roshan had said
“I belong to the old school of filmmaking, where even official contracts were waved away. Word given to one another was enough. Here, the exhibitors and distributors are going back on their words so brazenly, under what pressures, I don’t know. I am very hurt. If this kind of unethical practices continue I will have to quit filmmaking. I am not equipped to handle back-stabbing on this level.”
After these angry remarks by Rakesh Roshan, it was time for SRK to respond and yes, he finally did. In an interview, King Khan said
“I always keep my friendship and business separate and I feel It should be like that. They are my friends and I wished Hrithik and team Kaabil all the best. I hope their film does amazing business.”
Talking further, he said “If I had a father, I would make him talk to Rakeshji. But he’s no more.”
Both the movies are good in their own ways; we can’t see Kaabil is better than Raees or vice versa. Let’s hope this sourness between Rakesh Roshan and SRK ends soon.
