It’s indeed a great thing on the part of a woman that she manages the whole household, does all the chores and takes the best care of kids without being paid a penny for what she does. And if you see from my perspective, she does the world’s toughest job with selflessness and extreme devotion.
But you will be shocked to hear that there is a husband, Nelms, who actually realized what a great thing his wife does and just to express his gratefulness towards her, he did not only admired, kissed or said ‘thank you’ but did something which is an inspiration for every guy.
He took pains of totaling in monetary terms each and everything she does for the family that could include shopping of groceries, looking after the child, cleaning house, executing parties and so on. For this, Nelms made a proper research as to if he hired a person for carrying out all these tasks, what would he charge and when he saw the total, he was surprised.
Chef – $240 weekly = $12,480 per annum
Shopper (for groceries as well as “a new pack of white undershirts”) – $65 an hour at 4 hours per week = $13,5250 annually
Cleaning services – $50-100 for one visit on a weekly basis = $5,200 yearly
According to the statistics made by Nelms, his wife is worthy of getting $73,960 a year.
As per a post written by him, “Looking objectively at an almost insultingly conservative average of the services rendered, I cannot afford my wife.” It immediately broke the Internet.
He added, “And let’s remember, there’s no sick leave with childcare, there’s no paid time off, there’s no 401(k). All of the incentives that someone who makes over 70K a year would normally enjoy are not part of this deal. All of the worker appreciations, merit bonuses, and recognition that comes with being a part of an office are out too.”
He further said, “In a very weird way, this is my way of saying how much I value my wife as the mother of my child and the one who always has my back no matter what. You are more precious than rubies. And I can’t afford you.”
