Ravindra Jadeja has added another major achievement to his remarkable Test career. During India’s ongoing first Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium, Jadeja reached the milestone of 350 Test wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja returned to India’s Test XI for the series and made his presence felt on Day 3. He first dismissed Sri Lankan Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva during the morning session on Monday. Later, in the third session, he removed Keshara Nuwantha to complete his 350th Test wicket.
Ravindra Jadeja, who currently tops the ICC Test all-rounder rankings, achieved the landmark in his 90th Test match. He made his Test debut for India in 2012. With 350 wickets, Jadeja has become only the fifth Indian bowler to take at least 350 wickets in Test cricket.
Anil Kumble remains India’s leading wicket-taker in Test cricket. The legendary spinner played 132 Tests between 1990 and 2008 and finished his career with 619 wickets. He is followed by – Ravichandran Ashwin (537 wickets), Kapil Dev (434 wickets), Harbhajan Singh (417 wickets) and Ravindra Jadeja (350 wickets).

Ravindra Jadeja’s latest achievement puts him among some of the biggest names in Indian Test cricket. Jadeja’s achievement is even more impressive because he has also crossed another major all-rounder milestone. He has become only the second Indian and fourth player in world cricket to score at least 4,000 Test runs and take 350 wickets.
The only players to achieve the feat before him were India’s Kapil Dev, England’s Ian Botham and New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori. Kapil Dev finished his Test career with 5,248 runs and 434 wickets in 131 matches. Ian Botham played 102 Tests for England, scoring 5,200 runs and taking 383 wickets. Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori played 113 Tests and ended his career with 4,531 runs and 362 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja has now joined this elite group after scoring 4,108 runs in 134 Test innings.

Ravindra Jadeja was not selected for India’s one-off Test against Afghanistan in June 2026. However, he returned to the Test side for the ongoing series against Sri Lanka.
In the first innings of the Galle Test, Jadeja came in at No. 7 and scored 13 runs. While his contribution with the bat was limited in the innings, his performance with the ball has given him another historic moment in his Test career. At 350 wickets and more than 4,000 Test runs, Jadeja has further strengthened his reputation as one of India’s greatest Test all-rounders.
Well played, Ravindra Jadeja!
