Padmaavat was expected to be as grand as Bahubali but unfortunately, it couldn’t break its records. The movie is undoubtedly enjoying a good run at the Box office right from day 1 but it couldn’t make it that BIG.
The hype and the controversies surrounding the movie has managed to give it good numbers; however, Padmaavat has highlighted the Rajput culture in a royal way and no one can deny that.
Luckily, the movie got an extended weekend due to Republic Day holiday and it took full advantage of that.
After 18 crores on the first day, the film witnessed a good jump from the 2nd day. After the Saturday total i.e. 80 crores, we were eagerly waiting for it to enter the 100 crores club and yes, it did so.
On Sunday, Padmaavat minted amazing numbers. As per early estimates of Box Office India, the film collected 30 crores on Sunday, bringing the total to 112 crores. The movie has had a power packed first weekend.
