Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz starrer Raid released yesterday and opened to pretty a decent response.
The film is not a typical mass entertainer so a big opening was unlikely. But still, the star value of Ajay Devgn helped it attract the audience in morning shows. Good word of mouth further helped it and hence the noon, evening and night shows had better occupancies.
The film on its opening day has earned a nice 10.04 crores sum which means it’s the 3rd highest opener of this year followed by Padmaavat and Pad Man. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted-
After an ordinary start in morning shows, #Raid jumped post noon onwards… Evening/night shows saw super growth… A double digit start for a non-masala, realistic film is heartening… Strong word of mouth should boost numbers on Sat and Sun… Fri ₹ 10.04 cr. India biz.

The opening is pretty close to the Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man which earned 10.26 crores net on Day 1 but Raid will be expected to have a better trend.
The film has got good public reports initially so Saturday and Sunday are expected to be bigger. A weekend figure between 38-40 crores net will be considered good for the film while the real test will start from Monday.
