Infosys Co-Founder Calls Indian Edu System Faulty, Says 80% Youngsters Are Not Trained For Any Job

India as a country is suffering from lack of jobs. There is a huge pressure on the government to create enough jobs for people, but that seems to be a really hard task if we go by the belief of Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy.

Narayana Murthy thinks that Indian youth fails big time if we talk about talent and being trained. Blaming the faulty education system of India, Narayana Murthy says that 80% of youngsters are not properly trained for any job. He insists that there is a huge talent crunch in India.

Narayana Murthy was at the interactive session at the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. Speaking at the event, he criticised the system that emphasises on rote learning rather than problem-solving which is seriously affecting entrepreneurship.

“India is not at the forefront of the start-up culture. Compared with the US, UK, Germany or China, I don’t think we are anywhere close.”

During an interaction with students, Murthy suggested them to first decide in which sector they want to become an entrepreneur before thinking about entrepreneurship.
