The veteran actress Bhanurekha Ganesan or Rekha, as she is popularly called, has been an epitome of beauty. In fact, it appears that she has stopped ageing and even when she is 63 years old, she looks very pretty and graceful.
She entered the film industry when she was just 14 and won hearts with her beauty, acting and expressions. However, she barely talks about her personal life and that’s why people are still curious to know more about her.

A lot has been said about Rekha and Amitabh’s illicit affair and the former’s unfortunate married life. Rekha met Big B during the shooting of “Do Anjaane” and it’s said that she got so impressed by his tall personality and charm that she fell in love with him. However, Amitabh was already married to Jaya at that time and didn’t make any commitment to Rekha. On the other hand, she allegedly told her friends and family as to what she felt for Amitabh but the latter refused the news of linkup.
On the wedding reception of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu, when Rekha reached the venue, everyone was shocked to see her as she was wearing sindoor. It was then that people started speculating about her secret marriage with Amitabh.
When she was questioned about it, Rekha said,
“Ogawd! I was going there straight from a film shooting.. and I don’t worry about people’s reactions. By the way, I think it looks rather nice on me.. sindoor suits me.”
However, at the National Awards event in 1982, she said,
“In the city I come from, it’s fashionable to wear sindoor.”
When Big B couldn’t give any official name to their alleged relationship, the heartbroken actress tried to get settle with industrialist Mukesh Agrawal after he proposed to her for marriage. But as luck would have it, Mukesh’s sudden demise separated the couple and Rekha was again alone. However, people were shocked when she was wearing sindoor even after her husband passed away.
Some time ago, a startling revelation was made by Deepali, wife of veteran actor Puneet Issar, who told an entertainment portal that Rekha wears sindoor for the man whom she respects and loves a lot and he’s none other than Amitabh Bachchan.
