The IPL 2022 will be bigger and better than the tournament’s previous seasons as two new teams will be added next year which will take up the count of teams to 10 which means there will be more matches, more thrill and more excitement. The mega auction is also scheduled next year and it will be interesting to see which players are retained by the respective teams as the teams are permitted to retain only three Indian players and one foreign player.
Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) extended the deadline for bidding till October 20 and the bidding process will take place on October 25 in Dubai. While Manchester United, the premier league club, is said to be one of the front-runners, there is news that Bollywood actors and one of the most loved couples of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are also running in the race for owning a new team.
The association between the IPL and Bollywood is nothing new as Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Preity Zinta have been associated with the IPL teams Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings (earlier Kings XI Punjab) since the inaugural edition of 2008.
Earlier, the BCCI has shortlisted six cities – Lucknow, Ranchi, Cuttack, Ahmedabad, Guwahati and Ranchi and as per the reports, Lucknow and Ahmedabad are said to be ahead of other cities.
Talking about Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s interest in the IPL team, Deepika belongs to sports background as her father Prakash Padukone is a former Indian badminton player and Ranveer Singh is the brand ambassador of National Basketball Association (NBA) and he is also associated with teams in EPL.
However, the Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik had a hilarious take on the news of Ranveer and Deepika bidding for the IPL team.
He took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to take a jibe at Ranveer Singh’s dressing style as he tweeted, “The jerseys gonna be interesting for that team”

Ranveer Singh is pretty famous for his weird dressing style because of which he has been trolled many times on the Internet and social media but it hasn’t affected him or Deepika even a bit.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer “83” is all set to release on 24th December. This movie is based on the story of India’s 1983 World Cup win and while Ranveer Singh is playing the role of former Indian cricketer Ranveer Singh, Deepika is essaying the character of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev.
