The Indian cricket team must be under huge pressure as it is trailing by 1-0 in the 3-match T20I series against Australia and what made its defeat more hurtful was the fact that it was not able to defend a good total of 208 runs in its home conditions. The Indian cricketers were already getting criticized for their disappointing performance in the Asia Cup 2022 and this defeat has further given them some more questions to answer and some more concerns to think about.
While Indian batters KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav performed brilliantly in the first T20I match against Australia, the Indian bowlers except Axar Patel were pretty ineffective and the fielding was also below expectations. While few catches were dropped, a goof up by wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik and bowler Yuzvendra Chahal denied India the chance of sending Australian batter Cameron Green back to the dug-out as the batter was lbw out but neither DK nor Yuzi even appealed for the wicket.
Cameron Green was at the score of 17 at that time and Rohit Sharma was quite furious on the wicketkeeper and the bowler as the replay showed that ball would have hit the stumps. Cameron Green went on to score 61 runs in 30 balls and his innings included 8 fours and 4 sixes. He played an important role in his team’s win and was adjudged as the Player of the Match.
During the match, the Indian team took a DRS and at that time, the skipper Rohit Sharma was seen holding Dinesh Karthik by neck and his facial expressions were also quite aggressive, however all this happened in a good spirit. It proved out to be a fodder for making memes and soon Internet was flooded with rib-tickling memes and jokes that will make you go ROFL:
