The former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been an inspiration for many of us and even after so many years of his retirement, he is still one of the most loved cricketers of all times among the Indians. Though he enjoys a huge fan following all over the world and is admired by many of his contemporaries yet in India, he is no less than the God of cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar has many records to his name including record of the most runs in ODIs and test matches plus record of the highest number of international centuries is also registered in his name. He debuted in the year 1989 and has played numerous match-winning knocks for the country, however one innings which is very close to the hearts of his fans is the one in which he scored 143 runs in 131 balls against Australia in an ODI which was played in Sharjah in 1998.

The innings was named as Desert Storm in Sharjah and recently Sachin Tendulkar revealed an incident regarding an advertisement which he refused because he felt that it was insulting towards cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar was attending an event in which he disclosed that in 1998 after they returned from Sharjah, one sponsor approached him for an ad shoot in which cricket balls were coming towards him and he was hitting them outside the ground, not with a bat but with a fly swatter. He further added that he refused the ad until the script was changed because it was disrespecting towards his game which he worships.

Tendulkar said that if he had shot that ad, he wouldn’t have been able to go his home or meet his coach because they never taught him things like this. He adds that right values have been infused in him and he always stands by them. He stated that fortunately the script was changed after which he shot the ad.

Sachin Tendulkar bid goodbye to international cricket in 2013 and in his illustrious career of 24 years, he played 200 test matches, 463 ODIs and 1 T20I for the country.
