MS Dhoni will be back leading CSK in this season but the big question that everyone is asking is whether the IPL 2024 is the last IPL season of Mahi or not. There is no denying the fact that age is not on the CSK skipper’s side and he must be having some health issues too as he underwent knee surgery just after the IPL 2023 got over last year.

Recently, during a show, the former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa who has also played for CSK in the tournament has shed his opinion on Dhoni’s future in the IPL. He says that CSK will let Dhoni play even if he is on the wheelchair, get up from the wheelchair, bat and then again sit on the wheelchair but batting has never been and it will never be an issue for MS Dhoni. According to Uthappa, the main issue is wicketkeeping, MSD loves to keep wickets but his knees are worn out. He adds that if Dhoni won’t be able to stand and keep wickets over there and he won’t be able to add value, he would certainly move on from the game.

After listening to Robin Uthappa, the former England cricketer Eoin Morgan states that MS Dhoni is that type of person who writes their own script and it is all about how he feels. Morgan further adds that if Robin is correct about Dhoni’s knees, time is ticking and MS Dhoni is not that kind of person who will stay unnecessarily because he will always want his team to perform well. Morgan concludes by saying that MS Dhoni will want somebody else to take over the responsibility.

Suresh Raina, the former Indian cricketer who also played for CSK and was an integral part of the franchise at one point of time, said that MS Dhoni arrives in Chennai one month or three weeks before the IPL, he bats for 2-3 hours and does gym training. He adds that that at that time, there is a lot of team bonding which Raina calls magical.

What do you think – will MS Dhoni retire from the IPL after this season or will he make a comeback for a couple of more seasons? Share your views with us.
