Shubman Gill, the young Indian cricketer has been associated with the IPL team Gujarat Titans for three seasons now, he played an important role in the last two seasons as GT won the IPL title in its debut season while in the second season, it played the finals and now in the third season, he is playing as the skipper of the team.
It won’t be wrong to say that Shubman Gill has played an important role in the team’s success and whether GT will win the IPL 2024, it will also depend a lot on Shubman Gill’s performance.
GT registered its third win of the tournament in their sixth match which they played against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh stadium, Jaipur. It was one of the most thrilling encounters which GT won on the last ball of the match and Shubman Gill led from the front by scoring 72 runs (44 balls, 6 fours & 2 sixes) and with this innings, he broke one more record of Virat Kohli.
Shubman Gill has become the youngest player to score 3000 runs in the IPL and he achieved this feat at the age of 24 years and 215 days old. Earlier this record was in the name of Virat Kohli who completed 3000 runs in the IPL when he was 26 years and 186 days old.
Shubman Gill is also the fourth fastest to score 3000 runs as he managed to touch the 3K mark in 94 innings and he has tied with David Warner and Faf du Plessis. The fastest cricketer to touch the 3K mark is Universe Boss, Chris Gayle (75 innings) and on the second position, we once again have an Indian and he is KL Rahul (80 innings) followed by Jos Buttler (85 innings).
Shubman Gill will have to perform well if India has to win the T20 World Cup which is going to take place in June in USA and West Indies.
