The Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya had a great T20 World Cup 2024 as he took 11 wickets and scored 144 runs in the tournament and how we can forget to mention the wonderful spell that he bowled in the finals.
However, Hardik Pandya has gone through a lot in the last six months as fans of Mumbai Indians were quite annoyed with him because he replaced Rohit Sharma as the new skipper of the Mumbai franchise. The huge fanbase of Rohit Sharma was in no mood to accept Hardik Pandya as the skipper, especially when Hitman was leading the Indian T20 team as well and the poor performance of MI and Hardik Pandya further increased his problems.
Hardik Pandya was booed during every IPL match by MI fans but he remained calm and composed and took everything in a sporting manner.
Hardik’s MI teammate Ishan Kishan was with him for most of the time, even while training for the IPL and he observed from the close quarters as to how Hardik Pandya reacted to the criticism.
While speaking to a news portal, Ishan Kishan said that he had a gut feeling that Pandya was saving everything for the World Cup. He added that he will never forget what Hardik told him. Ishan recalled Hardik’s words that those who are abusing him will clap for him once he starts performing (“Ek baar performance aa jaaye fir jo aaj gaali de rahe wahi taaliyaan bajayenge”).
Ishan Kishan said that when he was going through tough phase, Hardik asked him to let people say what they are saying, they will give 100 percent to the game that they love.
Talking about the criticism that Hardik faced, Ishan said that it is really difficult to explain what he went through in the last six months because a lot was written and said about him but Hardik never lost his cool. Ishan said that he was there with Hardik for most of the time but he never heard Hardik cribbing as to why this is happening to him. According to Ishan, Hardik was calm, he took it sportingly and never lost focus from his game.
Ishan further said that he remembers Hardik once said to him why to think about those things which are not in his hands or he can’t control or what people are saying. Hardik further said that the same people who are slamming him now will celebrate him in the future, he just needs to take everything in a good and sporting manner.
Very well said, Hardik Pandya! He is a sorted person, what do you say?
