While discussions are ongoing, Subhash Ghai has reportedly finalised the script and is in active talks with several leading young actors to take on the role of a fresh protagonist who will be pitted against an older Ballu Balram, still played by Sanjay Dutt who will return as a 55 years old version of his iconic character. Subhash Ghai clarified that the new lead is not a replacement for Ballu but rather a new figure in the evolving narrative, much like the multi-generational arc seen in The Godfather series, with Marlon Brando and Al Pacino.

The filmmaker is reportedly considering a wide talent pool that includes Bollywood stars like Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor, as well as South Indian powerhouses such as Allu Arjun and Yash. The goal is to find an actor capable of carrying forward the intensity and legacy that the character of Ballu represents.
