Vaibhav Suryavanshi first caught the nation’s attention earlier this year with a sensational century in the IPL and he has only continued to shine since. Representing India in the recently concluded five-match Youth ODI series in England, he scored the most runs in the series — 355 runs in five matches. His strike-rate of 174.02 and average of 71 were remarkable and he hit 30 fours and 29 sixes in the tournament. His standout performance came when he smashed a breathtaking 143 off just 52 balls, setting a new record for the fastest century in Youth ODI history. India went on to win the series by 3-2.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s rise began when he became the youngest player ever to be signed during the IPL’s two-day mega auction. And he did not disappoint. On his debut, he made an instant impact by hitting the very first ball he faced for a six. He then stunned everyone by scoring a record-breaking century off just 35 deliveries, the fastest ever by an Indian in the history of the IPL. At only 14 years and 32 days old, he also became the youngest cricketer to hit a T20 century, breaking the previous record set by Vijay Zol at 18 years and 118 days.
