Mohit Suri’s film Saiyaara has turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the year 2025, becoming a box office hit and winning audiences over with the chemistry between newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.
In a recent interview, Mohit Suri revealed how working with these fresh faces actually made him rethink his usual directing style. He said that he had to let go of many things he had learned from directing experienced actors over the years and instead connect with Ahaan and Aneet on their level. He explained that the chemistry people loved on screen came naturally from the two actors themselves after they did workshops and spent time understanding their roles.
Interestingly, the director and his team decided to keep both debut actors away from joint public appearances before the film’s release. While most films these days rely on intense marketing and media promotion, Mohit Suri chose a more old-fashioned approach. He said that since both the leads were new, they wanted the audience to focus on the story and emotions of the film, not just the faces promoting it. They believed that the content should speak for itself and felt that this was not a planned marketing trick but simply a return to how newcomer-driven films used to be launched.
Saiyaara has not only succeeded but become a blockbuster in 2025, performing far beyond expectations. The film continued to do well even when it was released alongside major projects like Anupam Kher’s Tanvi: The Great, Sonakshi Sinha’s Nikita Roy, Mahavatar Narsimha, Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2, and Dhadak 2 starring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Audiences loved Saiyaara for its strong emotional storyline, touching music and beautiful performances. The movie tells the story of Krish, a talented but struggling musician, and Vaani, a dedicated writer, as they go through life’s toughest challenges while trying to keep their love alive.
Thanks to powerful word-of-mouth support and a genuine connection with moviegoers, Saiyaara has become one of the most watched and talked about romantic movies of the year.
