Animal was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year 2023, dominating the box office and sparking countless debates. While audiences celebrated its action and drama, the film also drew sharp criticism for its portrayal of violence and accusations of promoting male chauvinism. Much of this criticism was directed at its director Sandeep Reddy Vanga who had previously faced similar backlash for Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy.
