Shock and grief spread across Afghanistan after a devastating airstrike in Kabul reportedly ki*led more than 400 people on Monday night and it is being said that around 250 persons have been injured in these airstrikes. As the news broke, voices from the cricketing world quickly turned into strong reactions, with players expressing pain, anger and frustration over the incident.

Among the first to react was the Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq who took to Facebook to share his thoughts. He compared the Pakistani military’s actions to Israel’s att@cks on Gaza, a statement that quickly went viral online.
“Hard to find any difference between Israel and Pakistani regime period,” wrote Naveen-ul-Haq, who has represented Afghanistan in both the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Reports suggest that the strike targeted a drug rehabilitation centre in Kabul, leading to the d*aths of hundreds of people. The scale of the tragedy has deeply affected not just civilians but also prominent figures in Afghan cricket.

Not just Naveen-ul-Haq but many other Afghanistan cricketers such as Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and others also slammed Pakistan for this act.
Let us pray for all those who have lost their lives in these airstrikes!
