A beautiful moment inside a classroom in Japan has taken the Internet by storm and for a good reason. A short 19-second video from a school in Shizuoka Prefecture is going viral, showing something many students around the world can only dream of: every student receiving a brand new iPad.
In the clip, shared on Instagram by Numazu Municipal High School, first-year high school students are seen walking up one by one to collect their devices. What follows is simple yet heartwarming — they open the boxes, peel off the protective covers and react with calm, genuine excitement. The reel titled as “High School 1st Year iPad Introduction” has already gained millions of views within days.

Well, this isn’t some special giveaway. The iPads are part of Japan’s GIGA School Program, a nationwide initiative aimed at ensuring every public school student has access to a personal digital device, along with Internet connectivity and modern learning tools. The goal is clear: to make classrooms more interactive and integrate technology into everyday education.
While most schools under this program use Chromebooks, some institutions, like this one, prefer iPads due to their user-friendly design and wide range of educational apps.
The video has also triggered reactions globally. One user captured the mood perfectly with a humorous comment: “Oh yeah… ab aayega mazza… hume bhi dedo koi iPad”, showing a mix of admiration and envy.
Japanese schools, however, are known for much more than just technology. They focus on building discipline and responsibility from an early age. Students clean their own classrooms, serve meals to each other and even learn about nutrition and farming by growing vegetables.
So while the video highlights iPads, it has opened up a larger conversation about how education systems worldwide shape not just learning but life values.
