At just 15 years old, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is turning heads with fearless batting performances in the IPL 2026. Facing some of the world’s best bowlers, the teenage sensation continues to play with remarkable confidence and maturity well beyond his age.
On Tuesday, the young batter once again delivered a match-winning knock for Rajasthan Royals during their crucial clash against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur. Chasing a massive target of 221 runs, Rajasthan Royals comfortably secured a seven-wicket victory in just 19.1 overs, moving one step closer to an IPL 2026 playoff spot.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi narrowly missed out on another sensational century, falling just 7 runs short of the three-figure mark. However, his explosive innings proved to be the biggest reason behind RR’s successful chase.
During the match, fans noticed a new celebration from the youngster after he reached his half-century. He made an “A” symbol with his hands, sparking curiosity among viewers and commentators alike.
Former cricketer and commentator Murali Kartik later asked him about the meaning behind the gesture. At first, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi playfully avoided giving a clear answer and joked that even he did not know what it meant. He also mentioned that he likes trying different celebrations in every match.
But later, in a video shared by Rajasthan Royals, the teenager finally revealed the emotional reason behind the gesture. He said that the celebration was dedicated to his mother, whose name starts with the letter “A”. He admitted that he initially wanted to keep it private because he hoped to continue the celebration without drawing too much attention to it.
