Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have shared details about how their relationship first began, revealing their very first conversation and an unusual request Nick made before the two started dating.

On the July 14 episode of Hey Jonas, the couple looked back at their early interactions while Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas read out their first messages to each other. Holding hands throughout the segment, Priyanka and Nick laughed and cringed as they revisited the start of their love story.
Their first interaction took place in 2016 on Twitter. Nick Jonas revealed that his interest in Priyanka Chopra grew after he saw her on a billboard promoting the ABC series Quantico, which aired from 2015 to 2018. He also shared that his brother Kevin Jonas had asked whether he had watched the show, while several people had suggested that he and Priyanka should meet.
Nick Jonas then sent Priyanka Chopra a direct message introducing himself and asking if she would be in Los Angeles. Priyanka replied that their mutual friend Graham Rogers had already spoken highly of Nick and suggested they continue the conversation over text, saying it would be more private.
After moving to text messages, Nick Jonas wanted to confirm that he was actually speaking to Priyanka Chopra. As she recalled, he asked her to send a timestamped selfie as proof of her identity. Priyanka said she initially found the request surprising but also understood why he wanted to verify it was really her.
Although they first connected in 2016, the couple started dating only about a year and a half later. Their relationship moved quickly after that, with Nick and Priyanka getting engaged just 2.5 months after they began dating in July 2018.
