Just weeks after announcing the end of their engagement, Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and actor-influencer Akriti Agarwal have reportedly decided to give their relationship another chance. Akriti has now confirmed their reconciliation through a new statement on Instagram, revealing that the couple has discussed their differences and chosen to move forward together.
In her post titled “A Personal Clarification”, Akriti Agarwal opened up about the reasons behind her earlier decision to call off the engagement. She admitted that the opinions of people close to her had influenced the way she viewed Prithvi Shaw and their relationship.
Akriti Agarwal explained that she had allowed others to shape her understanding of the relationship instead of having the honest conversation with Prithvi that the situation required. She felt that she had been misguided and acknowledged that her decision was made without fully discussing their differences together. However, she did not name the people whose opinions had influenced her.
Taking responsibility for the separation, Akriti Agarwal also acknowledged that her decision had caused hurt and she accepted her role in how things unfolded. Akriti revealed that she and Prithvi Agarwal have since spoken openly, understood each other better and decided to reunite. She made it clear that they want to focus on their relationship and believe they can support each other without allowing outside opinions to influence their decisions.
The actor-influencer added that their future would now be guided by their own understanding, trust and love. She also requested privacy and respect as they begin a new chapter together. Prithvi Shaw, however, has not yet issued a separate public statement about their reconciliation.

Prithvi and Akriti announced their engagement in March 2026. However, in September, Akriti revealed that they had decided to end their engagement because of differences in their goals and circumstances surrounding their future. At the time, she described the separation as a mutual decision and urged people not to speculate about the reasons behind it.
The couple’s relationship had already attracted attention before the announcement. In July, some of Akriti’s social media posts about being cheated on sparked rumours that she was referring to Prithvi. Akriti later dismissed those rumours, clarifying that the posts were not about the cricketer. She also maintained that the couple was still engaged and happy together.
However, the September announcement confirmed that their engagement had been called off. Now, with Akriti confirming that they have reconciled after privately discussing their differences, the couple appears ready to give their relationship another opportunity.
