The engagement of Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and social media personality Akriti Agarwal has come to an end, with the couple confirming their separation on Thursday.
Prithvi and Akriti had exchanged rings earlier in 2026 and had shared glimpses of their relationship on social media. In their latest announcement, they said the decision to part ways was mutual, as they realised that their goals for the future were different.
The news has once again brought Akriti Agarwal into the spotlight. While she became widely known after her relationship and engagement with Prithvi Shaw, Akriti had already established herself as a digital creator and actress.
Akriti Agarwal is a social media influencer, digital content creator and actress. She is originally from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, but later moved to Mumbai with her family during her teenage years. According to reports, Akriti pursued a Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College in Mumbai.
Akriti Agarwal began creating content during the COVID-19 lockdown. She initially gained attention by posting dance and lip-sync videos on social media. Her popularity gradually increased and she went on to build a large following online. Today, Akriti has more than 3 million followers on Instagram. Her content covers areas such as fashion, lifestyle and entertainment. She has also maintained a presence on YouTube.
Apart from her work as a digital creator, Akriti has also entered the entertainment industry as an actress. She made her acting debut earlier in 2026 with the Telugu film Trimukha.
Akriti Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw’s relationship had attracted considerable attention after Prithvi publicly announced their engagement earlier this year. On Thursday, Akriti confirmed that the engagement had been called off. Akriti did not provide any specific details about what led to the decision. She also asked people to respect their privacy during the difficult period and requested fans and social media users to avoid speculation or assumptions about the reasons behind their separation.
Akriti Agarwal has built her own career in the digital space, growing her audience to over 3 million Instagram followers and expanding into acting with Trimukha. Her separation from Prithvi Shaw has now put her personal life back in the spotlight, but she has made it clear that the specific reasons behind the couple’s decision will remain private.
