Call Center Employee Gangraped In The Name Of Lift In Bengaluru

A lady who works in a call centre has alleged to be raped by two men in South-East part of the Bengaluru city.

N S Megharikh, the Police Commissioner of Bengaluru talked to the reporters and told them, “A woman in her twenties, an employee with a call centre here, was gang-raped on the night of October 3 by two persons in South-East Bengaluru.”

The lady is said to be from Madhya Pradesh and presently works in a call centre in Bengaluru. Police told that at around 10 pm she was waiting for the public transport so that she can return her home, these two men came to her and offered her lift till her home, which she accepted. She was dropped in Madiwala area, South East Bengaluru after she was raped in a remote place by these two men.

The lady informed her friends, who took her to St John’s Hospital without wasting any time, the doctors informed the police of the case and the police have taken the statement of the victim. The lady has been discharged from the hospital yesterday.

Rohini Katoch Sepat, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) is heading the special team which has been formed to catch the two rapists. Police is also looking at the footages of various CCTVs installed at traffic junctions to get a clue about the vehicle.
