The conservative attitude of a father became the reason for the death of a daughter in Dubai. A 20 year old lady lost her life by drowning as her father didn’t allowed any male rescuer to save her daughter as he believes that if his daughter is touched by another man she will be dishonored.
This incident has been first reported by the news website Emirates 24/7. Deputy Director of Dubai Police’s Search and Rescue Department, Lt Col Ahmed Burqibah told that a person came to beach with his family to have picnic time. His 20 year old daughter was swimming in the sea; suddenly she started crying for help as she was drowning but her father didn’t let any male rescuer to save his daughter as he felt that she will be dishonored if touched by any rescuer, as a result the lady died by drowning in the sea.
As per the website, the father of the girl was later taken into the custody by the police.
This is not the first time we are hearing about conservative issues, some incidents have also been heard from other countries however there consequences were not so deadly.
In 2008, a Somalian was denied the award after the said that he won’t be shaking hands with the lady who is going to present the award.
