Sources say that Chennai Swaggers would continue the tradition of Whistle Podu and Sunny would distribute whistles to audience of the game. Whistles are considered to be an essential tool for promotion of Chennai Swaggers. They are planning city tours for coinciding with the matches and there is a music video plan too. The words ‘Whistle Podu’ will feature in the anthem of the team.
Sources say that Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings had a whistle and it was a main identity of the team. Since the team of Sunny is named Chennai Swaggers, traditional whistle-blowing is taken forward. CSK is suspended for 2 years from IPL now and the anthem cannot be used by them.
Sunny concludes that the whistle is an integral part of the team and the whistle would be used every time a six or a boundary is scored by the team or a wicket is taken.
