Bollywood has given us many good actors, while some entertain us with their performances in the commercial masala movies, there are several others who like to go for the route less taken as they prefer unconventional roles. Abhay Deol made his debut with Imtiaz Ali’s “Socha Na Tha” which got released in 2005 and starred Ayesha Takia in the female lead; the movie was liked by audiences as well as critics. After doing a couple of commercial movies, Abhay shifted his inclination more towards parallel cinema and worked in movies such as “Manorama Six Feet Under”, “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!”, “Dev D”, etc. and in the present times, he is known as an actor who knows how to play complex characters.

Well like almost every other celebrity, Abhay Deol has also faced ups and downs in his career but he never reached out to anyone, not even to his cousins Sunny and Bobby Deol because he preferred to handle things on his own and he is of the opinion that reaching out to someone is a sign of being weak.

Recently in an interview, Abhay Deol states that he doesn’t think in the same manner now but highs and lows don’t have much effect on him because he has faced such a situation in life for quite a long time. He adds that earlier he has been on his own whether he is going through a high phase or low phase but now he doesn’t want to be on his own anymore.

The “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” actor stated that he is very lucky to have met some really wonderful people during his journey and he is a part of a community in which some are from the family while some are friends who are equivalent to family members.

The 45 years old actor is actively engaged in social work and his recent release “Velle” is getting mixed reactions. Directed by Deven Munjal, “Velle” is the remake of a Telugu movie “Brochevarevarura” and also stars Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol and actress Mouni Roy.
