ACHE DIN For Indian Railways!! Hi-Tech Features In India’s Fastest Train Will Even Make You Believe So

Imagine you step into a train, hear soft music play in the background and are welcomed by a hostess who offers you a rose bud. Are you fascinated listening to this? Well, soon, this would be a reality.
Now, train hostesses would be introduced by the railways on the soon to be launched Gatiman Express between Delhi-Agra. The speed of the train would be 160kmph and would be 1st of its kind.

The launch of the train would happen next month and Suresh Prabhu, the Railway Minister would announce special features of this 1st semi-high speed train in India, while he would present the Rail budget on the 25th of February.

How is this train different?


The train would feature a GPS-based passenger info system, automatic fire alarm, sliding doors and emergency braking system. For the purpose of infotainment, it would feature a live TV service too. A senior official stated that they are trying their best for providing the best services in Gatiman in order to match flight services.

Hostesses just like flights

Just like flights, there would be hostesses on Gatiman to cater to the travelers. As per some sources, the fare would be 25% higher as compared to Shatabdi Express. Even the catering services would be of better standard.

Lot of variety for foodies

Both continental as well as Indian cuisine would be served on the train. Travelers will have a variety to choose from. Bone china crockery would be used to serve food items such as date walnut slice cakes, Spanish egg white omelette and chicken sausages. Other items include swiss roll, aloo kulcha, fresh cut fruits, Kanjeevaram idli, mini dosa, wholewheat upma etc.

Coming to the price

The fare of AC chair car is fixed at Rs.690 while for Executive Class, the fare is fixed at Rs.1,365.

Speed is just awesome

The train would have 12 coaches and will be equipped with a 5,400 HP electric locomotive. Gatiman Express would just need 105 minutes for covering 200km distance.

More routes

Such trains would be rolled by Indian Railways on 9 more routes including Nagpur-Secunderabad, Goa-Mumbai, Nagpur-Bilaspur, Hyderabad-Chennai, Chandigarh-Delhi and Kanpur-Delhi.
