Sunil Grover rose to fame with the character of Gutthi that he played in Kapil’s comedy show. Gradually, people showered more love to his comic timing and punches and soon he became as famous as Kapil. In fact, it won’t be wrong to say that he surpassed Kapil when it comes to comedy and perhaps the same is the reason that The Kapil Sharma Show went off-air after Sunil quit it. He has an enormous fan following and his fans will be glad to know that soon they will get to watch their favourite comedian on silver screen.
Yes, you read it right! Sunil will play the lead role in “Chhuriyaan” which also stars Radhika Madan and Sanya Malhotra.
If you think that he will be seen opposite these two actresses in Vishal Bharadwaj’s film, you are mistaken as the movie will have two more actors and they will portray the characters of their husbands. Talking about the flick, it revolves around two sisters who experience major changes in their lives after marriage.
The role of actresses’ father will be played by Vijay Raaz. Vishal Bhardwaj is quite pleased to work with Sunil and Vijay and surprisingly, he didn’t have any idea that Sunil is already a big star with a huge fan base.
Here’s what he told Mumbai Mirror,
“I am very happy to have Sunil Grover and Vijay Raaz as the two unconventional male leads of my film. Sunil plays a crucial and major part and I was surprised to know what a big star he is. He is a wonderful actor and person. I have noticed that everyone is eager to interact with him and now I am eager to shoot a great part with him too.”
He also talked about the preparation being done by his team for the flick,
“All the actors are already learning a beautiful Rajasthani dialect for their roles. Since the narrative has a lot of scope for music, I am working on a five-six song album, packed with folklore and Rajasthani flavour. There will also be a very interesting dance number that I am looking forward to film.”
Reports suggest that both the actresses will put on 10 to 12 kgs for their roles.
Although we have already seen Sunil Grover in “Gabbar Is Back”, it will be interesting to see how his career turns after Vishal’s “Chhuriyaan”.
