Rahul Dravid, the former Indian cricketer, is celebrating his 47th birthday today and Twitter is flooded with birthday wishes from former cricketers and his fans from all over the world.
There is no denying the fact that Rahul Dravid is a true gentleman and he was a selfless cricketer. He was ready to take up any role that his team needed him to take up. He did not even shy away from keeping the wickets so that the team could have an extra-batsman, he was there to open the innings whenever the openers got injured, he stood in front of the opposition as a wall whenever the team lost wickets early and he also led the team in one of the most critical phases of the Indian cricket.
Rahul Dravid is an inspiration for many young cricketers and Indian player Ajinkya Rahane is one of them. Rahane took to his social media account, made an emotional post and shared it with a photo of himself with Dravid. In the post, he called Rahul Dravid an inspiration for him, adding that he would always be a guiding light and role model for him.

Rahul Dravid entered the International arena in 1996 and he served the Indian cricket for 16 long years. The legend has more than 10000 runs on both the formats each – ODI and Test match, a feat which few batsmen have achieved till date.
He led the team during the Chappell era and undoubtedly it was one of the toughest phases for the Indian cricket.
