Rohit Sharma stated that when the team wins a test match like this, it is difficult to talk about any single turning point. He added that the game played by the team in the last four days was just superb and it was an overall team effort.
The head coach Rahul Dravid was also a happy man and he said that he is really proud of his team. He said that though it may look an easy win in the end yet it was a challenging match and it was good to see different players rising up to the occasion whenever needed. Rahul Dravid said that not just the senior players but the juniors also played well which speaks a lot about the quality of the team and its ability to bounce back.
The Player of the Match, Ravindra Jadeja stated that scoring a century and then taking a fifer in the same match is certainly a special feeling and he dedicated this innings to his wife Rivaba Jadeja as she makes him mentally strong and also gives him confidence.
Dhruv Jurel who made his debut with this test match was also pleased that he got the chance to play for the country and they defeated England as well. He said that for him, the turning point of the match was Yashasvi Jaiswal’s double century but the Indian batting coach Vikram Rathore feels that the partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja in the first innings when India was reeling at 33/3 was the turning point of the match.
Another debutant Sarfaraz Khan was also happy that he got the chance to debut and he was able to contribute in the team’s win over England.
Here is the tweet which was posted by the BCCI with the caption, “Presenting – 𝗔 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 RAW emotions post #TeamIndia’s emphatic win in Rajkot”.
