The superstar was attending the trailer launch of “Nanak Shah Fakir” on Thursday when he said,

“I have been shooting for ‘Kesari’ since the last one and a half months, and every time that I wear the taaj (turban) on my head, I am filled with pride.”

Akshay himself believes in the concept of “Ik Onkar” and when he was asked to comment on supporting “Nanak Shah Fakir”, he said,

“I am not doing this because of any kind of thing; I am doing it because I believe in it.”

He also told that for more than a year now, he has been associated with this flick. In his words,

“This is such a film that I saw one-and-half years ago, this is the only film I saw twice on the same day once with my mother and the other time I saw it alone. It is a beautiful film with a beautiful belief.”

When the National Award winning actor was asked whether he really feels that Hindi film industry is the most secular industry in the country, he said, “Yes”.

The actor was also of the opinion that religion should not be mixed with politics as he said,

“I believe in it thoroughly. There is only one God and that God is yours. To bring religion into everything…it is not done. I hope everyone follows that.”

The makers of “Nanak Shah Fakir” had a tough time when it comes to the shoot and release of the movie as getting certified by CBFC was a difficult task and when it got released in 2015, the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) imposed a ban on the film within a week of its release.

SGPC has now cleared the movie after it has been modified as per their instructions and now it will release on April 13.

Akshay Kumar tweeted:

The shooting of the movie was also not easy but it is also being said that Narendra Modi, who was the chief minister of Gujarat at that time, also helped the makers.

The producer Harinder Sikka said,

“I was not allowed to shoot in Bhuj, there was a boat scene that was to be shot in the ocean and we were not allowed to do that scene. That time we had called the CM and later he got things approved for us.”

The producer believes that even after facing such problems if the movie is getting released, it is because the flick is being directed by Guru Nanak himself.

Akshay’s next “Kesari” is based on the Battle of Saragarhi of 1897 in which 21 Sikhs fought bravely against the Afghans.

We wish all the best to the team of “Nanak Shah Fakir” and are waiting eagerly for “Kesari”.
