Rumours about Akshay Kumar joining the sequel of Hanuman Ansh have been spreading on social media but producer Anupriya Nagar has now clarified that nothing has been confirmed about the actor’s involvement.
The speculation started after Anupriya Nagar called Akshay her favourite actor. When she was asked if he would appear in Hanuman Ansh 2, she gave a response suggesting that the final decision would come from “Maharaj ji”. Her comment was soon interpreted by some fans as a possible hint that Akshay could be part of the sequel.
However, Anupriya Nagar has now denied confirming Akshay Kumar’s casting. Speaking to a leading daily, she clarified that she had not made any announcement or confirmation about the actor being part of the second film and said that the reports were false.
Meanwhile, Anupriya Nagar has also come forward to help visually impaired Bundeli singer Suneel Lodhi with his eye treatment. Suneel Lodhi provided the vocals for Maine Tere Hi Bharose, a song from Hanuman Ansh, directed by Vishal Chaturvedi. The song has received significant attention on social media and Anupriya Nagar said that Suneel Lodhi’s contribution to the film encouraged her to support his medical treatment.
Anupriya Nagar revealed that she has been arranging consultation appointments for Suneel Lodhi in Mumbai after expressing her willingness to help with his eye treatment. She also said that the Madhya Pradesh government has stepped in and is helping with his treatment, making it a joint effort involving multiple parties.
While the sequel casting rumours continue, Hanuman Ansh is enjoying a strong run at the box office. The film, which is based on the life of spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba, has earned Rs 309.38 crore in India and Rs 404.25 crore worldwide. The film was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore, meaning its worldwide earnings have reached nearly 200 times its reported budget.
Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh features Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand in pivotal roles. The film has continued its box-office run nearly two months after its release, with its worldwide gross standing at Rs 404.25 crore.
