Recently during an event, in response to a question, Salman Khan stated that Rs. 100 crore is very low for benchmark, after “Gadar 2” and “Jawan”, the benchmark should be Rs. 1000 crore. Now during a promotional event, Akshay Kumar has reacted to this statement of Salman Khan and has said that a movie should not be pressurised thinking that it will do that type of business because you just can’t focus only on the commercial aspect of the film as there are some stories which need to be told.

Khiladi Kumar adds that he hopes Bollywood gives more and more hit movies and he was very happy when Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” did well at the box-office. He says that there are some other movies such as “Gadar 2”, “OMG 2”, etc. which have also done well at the box-office and it is really good for the industry which suffered a lot during the COVID-19 pandemic. Akshay Kumar further says that it is really good that things are improving and Rs. 1000 crore is being set as a standard. He adds that he really hopes Indian movies earn Rs. 2000- 3000 crore just like Hollywood as they don’t have the script, screenplay, etc. that Indian cinema has.

Akshay also says that “Mission Raniganj” is not a commercial movie because it is being made on a set budget, it is not like “Jawan” or “Rowdy Rathore”, it has a niche audience and he really hopes that the movie performs well at the box-office.
