Akshay Kumar Speaks Up On Clashing With Shah Rukh Khan! His Answer Will Surprise You

Akshay Kumar’s movie and Shah Rukh Khan’s movie will clash at the box office this Independence Day.

While we love both the stars, it will be one tough choice which movie to watch first. However, we are pretty relaxed because we have holidays to watch both the movies without missing out the romance in Raula (tentatively titled SRK movie) and the social message in Toilet Ek Prem Katha.

If you all don’t know, Akshay Kumar and his team had announced Crack for release during this Independence day. As the movie hasn’t completed shooting, the same team thought of going ahead with the release of Toilet Ek Prem Katha instead.

Shah Rukh Khan’s movie with Imtiaz Ali movie released date was also locked on Independence Day. The clash was originally supposed to happen with Crack but it got postponed. To not disappoint his fans, Akshay Kumar preponed the release of Toilet Ek Prem Katha during Independence Day.

Both the teams have maintained silence on the clash. It was only during a recent interview when Akshay Kumar spoke about the clash.

Akshay Kumar addressed the concerns related to clash in an interview with leading daily Mumbai Mirror.

He said,

“My film is coming on August 11 because it’s a big date and an opportune time. Besides, Independence Day, there is another holiday in the same week. Such long weekends can easily take two big releases. Ghayal and Dil clashed, as did Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Lagaan.”

Akshay did make a logical point. We know that holidays are important for a film’s release and when it has stars, the clashes are unavoidable.

When Akshay was asked whether SRK and he will each other’s pie (collections) then Akshay said, “At least both of us are still assured of eating pie.”

Now that was a positive comeback from Akshay Kumar’s side. What we have often heard or believed is that clashes at box office spoil a personal relationship. There were instances when clashes became a personal war, in such scenario Akshay was also asked whether his equation with Shah Rukh Khan will be affected by any chance?

He said,

“Box-office clashes are professional hazards and ideally they should not have any personal implications. In a situation where we have 200 movies to be accommodated in 52 weeks, clashes have become unavoidable. I’m aware that (we don’t live in an ideal world). But I’m not willing to draw blood or go to war over a movie.”

Let us be sure that Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan are mature enough to deal with professional clashes. We hope both the movies do really well at the box office.
