“Stree 2” director Amar Kaushik has finally addressed the comparisons between his film’s poster and that of “Stranger Things 2”. When the poster for Rajkummar Rao & Shraddha Kapoor starrer was released earlier this year, many users noticed its striking resemblance to the poster of the popular series “Stranger Things 2”. Both the posters share a similar color scheme with the title displayed in red. However, Amar Kaushik has now clarified that he ‘did not realize’ the similarities when finalizing the “Stree 2” poster.
While talking to a news portal, Amar Kaushik said that honestly they didn’t realize that the poster of their movie looks similar to the poster of “Stranger Things 2”. He added that the designer made it and they liked it but they realized it much later that it is similar to “Stranger Things 2” and as audiences are more intelligent than the filmmaker, they would surely catch plagiarism.
Amar Kaushik further said that he understands how the audiences must have felt but they didn’t do anything intentionally and if he had known about it, he would have avoided it.
“Stree 2” featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi was released in theaters on August 15 and has been well received by audiences. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the sequel brings back Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor to reprise their roles from the original film. The story continues in the haunted town of Chanderi, now plagued by a new terror, Sarkata, leading the people of the town to seek Stree’s help once again. The film includes several surprise cameos, such as Varun Dhawan as Bhediya, who performs a special song with Shraddha Kapoor.
“Stree 2” faced competition at the box office from Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu’s “Khel Khel Mein” and John Abraham’s “Vedaa”. Despite this clash, “Stree 2” managed to capture the audience’s attention. Produced by Maddock Films, the movie has turned into an all-time blockbuster, earning over Rs 500 crore at the Indian box office to date.
