Recently, the Indian badminton team scripted history by winning the prestigious Thomas Cup held in Thailand’s Bangkok for the first time in the last 73 years since the inception of the tournament and became the sixth team to win it. This was the first time that an Indian team entered the finals of the tournament and it defeated the favorites, i.e., the 14 times champion Indonesia in the finals in straight set 3-0.

Soon, the social media networks were flooded with congratulatory messages and Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, also expressed his happiness on the micro-blogging site Twitter as he wrote that he grew up reading about the Thomas Cup and Indonesia’s badminton player Rudy Hartono who completely dominated the sports.

Anand Mahindra wrote, “This is the dawn of an era of Indian ascendancy in this sport; a sport that’s always been loved & played throughout our country. I grew up reading about the Thomas Cup & titans like Indonesia’s Rudy Hartono who dominated it. Today we swept Indonesia away… Apna Time Aa Gaya…”

Soon Chirag Shetty, one of the players of the badminton team which won the Thomas Cup, responded and thanked Anand Mahindra for his wishes. He also brought his attention on the matter of XUV700 which he booked and requested Anand Mahindra to get it delivered soon.

In his reply, Anand Mahindra says that they will try to deliver it soon to him and they are ready to work harder as XUV700 is champion’s choice. However, he also discloses that he has ordered one XUV700 for his wife too and he is still in queue, the reason behind the delay as stated by the chairman of Mahindra group is the disruptions in global supply chain.

He tweeted, “Since that makes the XUV7OO the Choice Of Champions we will have to work extra hard to get it to you ASAP. @vijaynakra I hope you see this!  (By the way, I’ve ordered one for my wife & I’m still in Q!) Sadly, the global supply chain disruptions are plaguing all car companies”.

Hopefully, Chirag Shetty will get his vehicle soon as champions should not be made to wait!
