BCCI has come out in open and has denied the media reports which suggested that Supreme Court’s CoA (Committee of Administrators) has suggested Virat Kohli to be humble.
BCCI posted an official statement on their website which read as saying-
There has been a report in the media by a Mumbai based tabloid dated November 17, 2018 with the headline “Be Humble: Virat Kohli gets a CoA memo”. The report stated that India Captain Virat Kohli has been sent a memo by the CoA to conduct himself with “humility”.
Contrary to the media report, the BCCI after consulting with the team management would like to rubbish the report and classify it as baseless.
What was the issue?
Virat Kohli has been facing scrutiny after he made controversial statements like, “Leave India if you can’t like the people here”. He was heavily trolled by the fans after this statement and then there were media reports which suggested Virat Kohli being in trouble.
It was said that a CoA member has reportedly suggested Virat Kohli to calm down and check his behaviour with the press and public. He was allegedly asked to conduct himself like an Indian captain and be humble, in his interactions both with the press and the public.
