Bride Loves Someone Else, Did Not Let The Groom Touch And Flee After Few Hours Of Wedding

A newlywed bride went missing just after few hours of the reception with all the jewellery that was given to her by her in-laws. The husband and in-laws got the shock of their life when they went police station to report the bride’s missing, there they came to know that the bride is in the police station and she has already registered a complaint against them for beating her and demanding a dowry of Rs.15 lakhs. Then the groom disclosed information which gave more shock to the family, he told that the bride ordered her to leave the room as she belongs to someone else and he should not even touch her. The incident took place in Lasudia, Indore, scheme number-78.

Durgesh Yadav of Indore was married to Anuradha Yadav of Ujjain, Durgesh’s family gave marriage party on 21 May which went on till 3 am in the morning. When Durgesh went into his room after the party, Anuradha was sleeping. He woke her up and gifted a mobile. She threw the mobile on the floor and said that she belongs to someone else and he should not try to touch her otherwise her lover will punish him, she said that her lover attended the reception party also. Shocked and dismayed, Durgesh asked her that why did she married him when she loved someone else; she replied that she was pressurized by her parents to get married to him.

Anuradha made a complaint in Police Station and accused her husband and in-laws of beating her and demanding Rs.15 Lakhs as dowry. On looking at the appearance of Anuradha, it was difficult for Police to believe her as there was no sign of beating; in fact her makeup was intact as of a bride. Police has referred the case to Women Consultancy Centre.

On the other hand, frustrated and depressed with what has happened with him just after a day of his marriage, Durgesh said all the 30 relatives in his home are endorse that due to hectic schedule and preparations of party, he was not even able to sit with Anuradha and talk to her. His younger sister was giving company to Anuradha. In the morning, she left the house without telling anyone and also took the jewellery that we gave to her. He said if she was in love with someone why did she married him, why did she gave me this sorrow when I was dreaming of a happy future.

Durgesh is not in the mood to leave the girl and her parents without teaching them a lesson. He went to Police station accompanied with all his neighbors and he is determined to take legal action against Anuradha and her parents.

Head constable of Women Thana and Incharge of Consultation centre Harvinder Kaur said that prima facie this doesn’t seems a case of dowry. We have taken application from Anuradha and statements of Durgesh and his family members have also been registered. We have advised both the families to solve the issue with mutual cooperation otherwise the police will take action.
