There is definitely something wrong with the present generation as they are committing crimes heinous enough to give goosebumps to elders.
In Nagaon district of Assam, a girl student of class V was allegedly raped and then burnt by three boys whom she knew. The incident took place on Friday and the girl whose 90% body was burnt died late in the night.
The girl was taken to hospital by her parents and in her statement to police, she said that she had been raped by three boys who poured kerosene on her and burnt her.
Out of the three accused, two are minors aged 11 and 10 while the third one is 21 years old and has been identified as Zakir Hussain. It is being said that the reason behind this crime is personal enmity of Zakir with the family and when the crime was committed, the parents of the girl were at work. The two minors have been arrested while Zakir is on the run and police is looking for him.
The police told,
“The minors have admitted to the crime. During questioning, they said the girl was alone at home after returning from school when the youth Zakir Hussain raped her. The juveniles then joined in and the three of them later set her on fire.”
As the two accused are minors, they will booked under Juvenile Justice Act and this is what Superintendent of Police, Nagaon, Shankar Raimedhi told NDTV,
“We have recorded a dying declaration… Based on that two of the accused have been caught; they will be produced in court today.”
Shankar added that a medical test to prove rape could not be performed as the injuries were too severe.
This is a horrendous crime and maximum punishment should be given to all the accused regardless of their age. What do you think?
