Class 8 Girl Poisoned Her Classmate For Scoring More Marks! Is This Pressure Of Studies On Them?

There is always a competition among the students of a class as to who will score the highest marks but the competition has become so fierce that a student of class 8 tried to kill her classmate.

In an extremely shocking incident, a girl student of the 8th standard purportedly gave poison to her classmate because she was apparently jealous of her scoring more marks than the accused in the examinations. Shocking but true! She took her water bottle and mixed mosquito repellent in it. Surprisingly, the accused herself made an attempt of committing suicide afterward, as she was scared of police.

It was on Monday that the appalling incident took place in a private school of Satna, MP. When the victim consumed the poisoned water, she started feeling uneasy and began to vomit. Later on, she was hospitalized but the good news is that her condition is stable now.

According to Bhupendra Singh, Civil Lines police station in-charge,

“Both the girls, aged around 13-14, study in the same class. After drinking water from her bottle, the victim suspected something unusual and told her friend that the water smelt like mosquito repellent. After she began to feel uneasy, the school administration informed her parents, who took her to a hospital. In the CCTV footage of the classroom, the accused girl was seen pouring the mosquito repellent into her classmate’s water bottle and then hiding it inside the bag of another student.”

Cops took the victim’s statement in which she said that her classmate might have done so as she scored higher marks than the accused. In the meantime, the wrongdoer also consumed mosquito repellent at home and attempted suicide because she was afraid of police investigation.

As per Bhupendra Singh,

“The accused girl also consumed the mosquito repellent at her home yesterday and is currently admitted to the district hospital. We are investigating the incident.”

Dr. Sudhir Singh who is treating her alleged her condition to be serious. In his words,

“We are treating her. She is serious but her condition is under control.”

Cops added that they have filed a case against the accused under section 328 of IPC for causing hurt by means of poison.

We really hope that the education authorities will look into the matter and take steps to reduce the pressure on students who are taking such horrific steps at such young stage.
