However, there are speculations that MS Dhoni may take retirement from the IPL after this season and from the next year, he won’t be taking part in the IPL as a player. Mahi has been associated with Chennai Super Kings since the inaugural edition of 2008 and CSK has won the IPL titles 4 times under his captaincy which makes him the second most successful skipper of the tournament after Rohit Sharma whose team Mumbai Indians has won the IPL trophy 5 times.

Age is certainly not on Dhoni’s side as he is almost 42 years old and Indian cricketer and former teammate of MSD, Kedar Jadhav is absolutely sure that this is the last IPL season of MS Dhoni as a player. During an interview, he states that he can say it with 2000 percent surety that this is the last season of MS Dhoni as a player. He adds that Dhoni will be 42 yrs old in July, though he is very fit yet we can’t deny that he is a human as well. Kedar Jadhav asked fans not to miss any match of MS Dhoni, in fact he asked them to watch each ball when MS Dhoni is on the field.

However when MS Dhoni was asked about his retirement from the IPL, he gave a very witty answer which made everyone laugh out loud. During a promotional event, a fan of MSD asks him to tell about his retirement plans and in response Mahi says that there is enough time to think about that issue. There are lots of games on which they need to focus and if he will say anything, the coach will be under pressure. While saying this, MSD indicates towards Stephen Flaming and says that he doesn’t want to give tension to the coach. The crowd present there started laughing and clapping after listening to Mahi’s epic response.

CSK will also need to find a new skipper, though they appointed Ravindra Jadeja as their skipper last year yet after successive defeats in few matches, Ravindra Jadeja gave the captaincy back to MS Dhoni.
