With this achievement, Italy becomes the 13th team to qualify for the 2026 tournament. They join other confirmed participants such as hosts India and Sri Lanka, and top teams including Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies and the United States, all of whom had advanced to the Super Eights in the previous T20 World Cup. Pakistan, New Zealand and Ireland have also earned automatic qualification based on their T20I rankings.
Italy’s qualification also comes alongside the Netherlands, who clinched their spot as the 14th team.
