Being fit is the mantra for success and Indian cricketers are very particular about their fitness nowadays. It won’t be wrong to say that Indian skipper Virat Kohli is leading from the front in this case as well. However, some of the Indian cricketers do spend a lot of time in the gym but their diet is a little different from what we all expect it to be.

1. Virat Kohli
He’s among the world’s fittest cricketers and his breakfast include omelette, spinach with black pepper and cheese, one whole egg and some salmon or bacon. Besides, he also takes green tea and lots of fruits. He also consumes red meat regularly and to burn the calories, he indulges in rigorous workout. Taking about his favourite food, it’s Japanese Sushi.
2. MS Dhoni
The 36-yr cricketer is one of the finest athletes of the world and the secret of his energy is his favourite food product, i.e., milk. He takes about 4 litres of milk (mostly in the form of milkshake) daily. With the consumption of dairy items, he gets the appropriate dose of calcium that is necessary for his work schedule. Apart from this, butter chicken, chicken tikka pizza, kheer and gajar ka halwa are among his favourite dishes. Other than cricket, Dhoni is interested in football and badminton as well and to build his stamina for playing various sports, he hits the gym on a regular basis.
3. Sachin Tendulkar
The Little Master is undoubtedly among the world’s best cricketers and even though he has taken retirement from cricket, he is still a fitness freak and never misses workout including strengthening exercises. To keep himself active, he also plays Tennis. However, he is a food lover and not only he likes to eat scrumptious dishes but he is a good chef too. His favourite dishes include Prawn Masala, dal-chawal, kheema paratha, Lassi and some Japanese dishes.
4. Rohit Sharma
Rohit has transformed himself from fat to fit and the secret of his fitness and strength is the consumption of eggs. It might come to you as a great surprise that he eats dozens of eggs despite the fact that he hails from a strict vegetarian background. Shockingly, he once had 25 eggs in one time; however, his favourite food item is aaloo ke parathe. He regularly goes to gym and we can see the amazing result on his physique and abs.
5. Hardik Pandya
His diet includes eggs and proteins and his muscular physique is the proof that he regularly hits gym for rigorous workout. Apart from this, he also takes green tea just like Virat Kohli.
6. Suresh Raina
He loves to eat burgers but taking into consideration his exercise and workout, we really don’t doubt his fitness. Intense yoga, leg exercises, lower back exercises, cardio exercises, squats, weight training and running in the treadmill make a part of his regular workout.
7. Shikhar Dhawan
This father of 3 kids eats very balanced diet that includes sufficient carbohydrates and proteins. His favourite food items are sautéed vegetables, broccoli, fish and tandoori chicken. For workout, he goes to gym twice or thrice in a week for many exercises like power-lifting, sit-ups, mobility training, cardio sessions, weight training, etc.
8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
He doesn’t seem to like much variation in food and likes a combination of dal-chawal and curd. For fitness, he does squats and weight training at gym regularly.

Lucknow dum biryani and mughlai dishes are Irfan Pathan’s favourite and Sehwag likes home-made Kheer. Yuvi likes to have kadhi chawal, matar paneer and continental dishes and paneer capsicum is a favourite of Ravichandran Ashwin. Zaheer Khan is fond of mutton biryani whereas Dinesh Karthik likes to eat butter chicken.
